Rachel Lindsay is an American lawyer and reality star. She works for the litigation law firm Cooper & Scully. She rose to prominence as a contestant on ‘The Bachelor’ and later as the first Black Bachelorette. Lindsay was born to parents Kathy and Sam on April 21, 1986 in Dallas, Texas. She has two sisters, Constance and Heather. Her father Sam is a federal district judge in Dallas. He was appointed to that position in 1998 by President Bill Clinton.

CAREER
Lindsay is a graduate of First Baptist Academy in Dallas. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and sports management from the University of Texas, Austin in 2007. Lindsay earned her J.D. degree from Marquette University Law School in 2011. She passed the Texas State Bar examination on her first try. Lindsay has worked a handful of jobs relating to sports and entertainment. This includes a job as a legal intern for the Milwaukee Bucks of the NBA. Lindsay worked briefly at the firms Brown & Hofmeister, LLP, followed by the Willis Law Group. She currently works as a litigation attorney for the Texas-based firm, Cooper & Scully, P.C.

America fell in love with Lindsay during her run on season 21 of ABC’s The Bachelor. She competed alongside 29 other women for the heart of Nick Viall. Lindsay won the first impression rose during the season 21 premiere on January 2, 2017. She quickly became a fan favorite and front-runner on the show. It was announced in February 2017 that Lindsay will be the next Bachelorette. Season 13 of the Bachelorette is set to premiere on May 22, 2017.
