ORIGIN
Prabhas is an Indian film actor best known for his work in Tollywood. He starred as “Amarendra Baahubali” in Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and the sequel Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017). His film credits include Varsham (2004), Darling (2010), and Mirchi (2013). Prabhas was born Venkata Satyanarayana Prabhas Raju Uppalapati on October 23, 1979, in Chennai, India. His father, U. Suryanarayana Raju, was a film producer, and his mother was Siva Kumari. He has two older siblings, Pramod Uppalapati and Pragathi. He’s also the nephew of actor Krishnam Raju Uppalapati. Prabhas attended the DNR School, Bhimavaram followed by Sri Chaitanya College, Hyderabad. He graduated with a Bachelor of Technology degree.

CAREER
Prabhas made his acting debut in the Telugu film, Eeshwar (2002). It was directed by Jayanth C. Paranjee. He landed the title role as “Raghavendra” in the Tollywood film, Raghavendra (2003). Other early films include Adavi Ramudu (2004) and Chakram (2005). Prabhas starred opposite Shriya Saran in the action-drama, Chhatrapati (2005). His role was that of a refugee who was exploited by goons. The film was directed by S.S.Rajamouli and produced by B. V. S. N. Prasad.

Prabhas held a double role as “Shivudu/Mahendra Baahubali” and “Amarendra Baahubali” in the epic historical film, Baahubali: The Beginning (2015). His roles were reprised two years later in the sequel Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017). Both films are among the highest-grossing Indian films ever made. Prabhas’ other films include Munna (2007) with Ileana D’Cruz and Bujjigadu (2008) with Trisha. He won a cinema award for Best Actor for his role in the romantic comedy, Darling (2010). His upcoming projects include the action-thriller, Saaho, directed by Sujeeth.
