Montana of 300 is an American drill rapper and songwriter. He’s signed to his own independent record label Fly Guy Entertainment (FGE). His discography includes Fire in the Church (2016) and Don’t Doubt the God (2017). He’s also known for his remixes of popular songs. Montana was born Walter Anthony Bradford on March 3, 1989, in Chicago, Illinois. He was raised on the south side of Chicago. Both his parents struggled with drug/alcohol abuse. He has 5 siblings, 2 brothers, and 3 sisters. Prior to music, he was competitive in football and track.

CAREER
Montana grew up listening to artists like Lil Wayne, Tupac and DMX. He began his own rap career as a teenager. He was called Tony Montana in high school hence the stage name. In 2008, he formed the rap group “300” which means “No Surrender, No Retreat, Only the hard, only the strong, Against all odds”. The name was derived from Zack Snyder’s epic war film 300 (2006) starring Gerard Butler. Another prominent member of the group is Talley of 300 (Montelle Talley). 300 disbanded in 2014 but their music can be found on YouTube. Montana’s debut mixtape, Cursed With a Blessing, was released in December 2014. It featured tracks like “Ice Cream Truck” and “Holy Ghost”. The official video for ‘Ice Cream Truck’ has been viewed more than 28 million times. Montana had a cameo appearance as a jamming prisoner in the Fox drama series Empire (2015). The collaborative mixtape ‘Gunz n Roses’ with Talley was released later that year. His remix of Nicki Minaj and Lil Herb‘s “Chiraq” was uploaded to YouTube in May 2014. The video has since been viewed more than 21 million times. Other popular remixes include White Iverson (Post Malone), Ooouuu (Young M.A), Bodak Yellow (Cardi B), and Mask Off (Future).

Montana’s debut studio album, Fire in the Church, was released in May 2016 by FGE. It peaked at #7 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and #4 on the Top Rap Albums chart. It featured rapper Kevin Gates on the track “Goonies”. Other tracks from the project include “Heat Stroke”, “Angel With an Uzi” and “Land of the Dark”. Montana followed up with the compilation album, No Surrender No Retreat, in February 2017. His sophomore album, Don’t Doubt the God, dropped in May 2017. It was led by the single “Dirty Dancin'”. He’s currently working on his third album ‘Pray For the Devil’. On April 16, 2018, Montana launched a GoFundMe page geared towards his own version the Who Run It (Remix). The campaign goal was set at $15,000.
