Michel’le began her music career in the mid 1980s. She worked alongside the electro group, World Class Wreckin’ Cru, on the 1987 single “Turn Off the Lights”. Michel’le later signed to Eazy-E’s Ruthless Records and her self-titled debut studio album was released in 1989. The album peaked at #35 on the Billboard 200. It was led by the singles “No More Lies”, “Nicety”, and “Keep Watchin'”. The album sold over one million copies worldwide.
Michel’le’s sophomore album, Hung Jury, was released in 1998 by Death Row Records. It spawned the singles “Hang Tyme”, and “Can I Get a Witness?”. It peaked at #56 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop charts. Michel’le has worked with artists like 2Pac and Tha Dogg Pound. Her recent music include the singles “Freedom to Love (2011)”, and “It Still Hurts (2014)”.
Michel’le joined the cast of R&B Divas LA in 2013. The reality series ran on TV One for three seasons from July 2013 to April 2015. Michel’le was the subject of the 2016 Lifetime biopic, Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel’le. She was portrayed by actress Rhyon Nicole Brown.
