Michel Delpech was a French singer, songwriter and actor. He was born on January 26, 1946 in Courbevoie, Hauts-de-Seine, France. His early influence include artist like Charles Aznavour and Gilbert Bécaud. Delpech signed to Disques Vogue at age 17 and released his debut single ‘Anatole’ in 1963. He formed a friendship with composer, Roland Vincent and was signed to Festival French record label in 1964. His debut album, Inventaire 66, was released in 1966. Delpech is known for recordings like “Chez Laurette”, “Wight Is Wight” and “Pour Un Flirt”. As an actor, he starred as “Françoit Gouriot” in the French film, The Beloved (2011). He married first wife, Chantal Simon, in 1966 and second wife, Geneviève Garnier-Fabre, in 1985. He had a total of four children including guitarist, Emmanuel. Michel Delpech died on January 2, 2016 at the age of 69. His reported cause of death was throat cancer.
