Meghan Elizabeth Trainor is a Grammy-winning pop singer, songwriter and music producer. She’s known for songs like “All About That Bass” and “Lips Are Moving”. Trainor was born to parents Gary and Kelly on December 22, 1993 in Nantucket, Massachusetts. She has two siblings, Ryan and Justin. Trainor took piano and guitar lessons as a child. She attended Nauset Regional High School in North Eastham. She also competed in the Berklee College of Music Performance Program.

CAREER
Trainor started out singing in her local church and by age 11 she was writing her own songs. She grew up in a musical household and her father encouraged her to explore various genres of music. Trainor performed regularly with the local band, Island Fusion, which consisted of her father, brother and aunt. She wrote her first original song “Give Me a Chance” at the age of 13.

Trainor released three independent albums, Meghan Trainor (2009), I’ll Sing With You (2011), and Only 17 (2011). She was named best female artist at the International Acoustic Music Awards in 2009. She won top prize at the New Orleans Songwriters Festival the following year. Trainor signed a publishing deal with Big Yellow Dog Music when she was 18. She wrote songs for artists like Rascal Flatts and Sabrina Carpenter.

Trainor signed with Epic Records in February 2014 and her debut single “All About That Base” was released four months later. The song was co-written with producer, Kevin Kadish. The song spent several weeks at the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100. It also picked up Grammy nominations for Record of the Year and Song of the Year. Trainor’s album ‘Title’ was released in January 2015 atop of the Billboard 200. The album was certified platinum by the RIAA and Trainor won a Grammy for Best New Artist. Her follow up album, Thank You, was released in May 2016. The album features the singles “No”, “Me Too”, and “Watch Me Do”.
