John Legend is a multiple Grammy-award winning singer, songwriter and actor. He was born John Roger Stephens on December 28, 1978 in Springfield, Ohio. His father, Ronald, is a factory worker, and his mother, Phyllis, a seamstress. He has three siblings, Vaughn, Ronald, and Phyllis. Legend attended North High School followed by the University of Pennsylvania where he studied African-American literature. Upon graduation, he worked as a management consultant for the Boston Consulting Group.
