Jamie Anderson is an American professional snowboarder and Olympian. Her specialty is slopestyle events. She’s won multiple gold medals at the Olympic Games, and at the Winter X Games. Jamie Louise Anderson was born on September 13, 1990, in South Lake Tahoe, California. Her parents are Lauren and Joey. She has 7 siblings, including sister Joanie. Anderson was home-schooled with Visions In Education (WASC accredited K-12). It gave her enough time to enjoy outdoor activities both on and off the slope.

CAREER
Anderson was introduced to snowboarding at the early age of 9. She trained at Sierra at Tahoe Education Foundation and quickly worked her way up the ranks. Anderson began competing at age 10. She qualified for the 2004 Winter X Games at age 13. Two years later she took home bronze at the 2005 Winter Games. Anderson has competed in the slopestyle, big air, and dual slalom events. She won her first Winter X Game gold medal at the 2007 games in Aspen. Her medal count now stands at 5x gold, 7x silver, and 3x bronze. She’s won such title as the Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour championship. She was named ‘Best Female Action Sports Athlete’ at the 2012, 2014, and 2016 ESPY Awards.

Anderson’s Olympic debut was at the 2014 winter games in Sochi, Russia. She won gold in the slopestyle event. Her second Olympic gold was at the 2018 games in PyeongChang, South Korea. She also took home the silver medal for the big air event. Anderson has 2 Olympic gold medals and 1 silver. She’s the first female snowboarder in history to win more than 1 gold medal at the winter Olympic games

In addition to snowboarding, Anderson is an environmentalist and dedicated yogi. She’s also appeared on a handful of television programs such as NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice. She was 1 of 16 contestants on season 14 (Jan-Feb 2015). Anderson was named as a celebrity contestant on season 26 of ABC’s Dancing with the stars. Her professional partner is Latin dancer Artem Chigvintsev.
