FKA Twigs is an English singer/songwriter, music producer, and dancer. Her music includes a mix of electronic, R&B, trip-hop, and avant-garde. She rose to prominence with the album, LP1 (2014), and the EP, M3LL155X (2015). Twigs was born Tahliah Debrett Barnett on January 16, 1988, in Gloucestershire, England. Her father is Jamaican, while her mother is a mix of English and Spanish. She was raised primarily by her mother and stepfather. Twigs attended St Edward’s School in Cheltenham. She studied ballet.

The album was nominated for the 2014 Mercury Prize and a 2015 Grammy Award. Twigs’ third EP, M3LL155X, was released in August 2015 by Young Turks. It featured production from Boots and Tic. M3LL155X was met with mostly positive reviews by critics. It was led by the single “In Time”. Other tracks from the project include “Figure 8”, “I’m Your Doll”, “Mothercreep”, and “Glass & Patron”.
