Aly Raisman is an American artistic gymnast and four-time Olympic medalist. She served as team captain of the US gymnastic team in the 2012 and the 2016 Summer Olympic Games. Raisman was born to parents Lynn and Rick on May 25, 1994 in Needham, Massachusetts. She has three siblings, Chloe, Brett and Madison. Raisman attended Needham High School, graduating in 2012. She takes classes at Babson College during her off seasons.

CAREER
Raisman developed an interest in gymnastic at the early age of 2. She drew inspiration from the 1996 US Olympic team, the Magnificent Seven. Raisman began her training at Exxcel Gymnastics followed by Brestyan’s American Gymnastics Club. She won the Junior vault event in 2009 and was placed 12th in the Cover Girl Classic.

Raisman made her senior debut in 2010 at the American Cup in Massachusetts. She won a team gold medal at the 2010 Pacific Rim Championships in Melbourne and gold at the 2011 World Championships in Tokyo. Raisman made her Olympic debut at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. She won an impressive three medals, two of which were gold. Raisman represented team USA at the 2016 Rio Games alongside Simone Biles, Laurie Hernandez, Gabby Douglas and Madison Kocian. She won her third Olympic gold medal for the women’s artistic team all-around competition.

In 2013, Raisman competed on the 16th season of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars. She was paired with professional ballroom dancer and two-time champion Mark Ballas. The two finished in fourth place. Raisman was featured on the Lifetime show ‘Gold Medal Families’ in June 2016.
